Hiya,
Does the vid change at all or is it set at intel when the chip was made?

I am asking as I have a Q6600 which has always had a vid of 1.3125v. whilst playing at overclocking, the mobo (p5b) stuck in auto on the voltage side for some reason. I checked core temp and it starts at 1.3125v then quickly changes to 1.1625v and stays there.

Just checked it jumps to 1.3125v on prime95 but drops back to 1.1625v idle.

Sounds like you have speedstep enabled, this adjusts the speed and voltage.
Does the speed decrease.

What mobo are you using ? V-core is normaly in the main voltage area. If you tell us what motherboard your using we should be able to tell you where v-core is.

Ps you can leave speedstep enabled a lot of us use it with our oc's who needs there cpu at 4ghz while there sat there reading a webpage. ? The millisecond you do something taxing the mobo will give you your oc back through upping the v-core and multiplier.

I got v-core working again. On crashing it had turned on AI overclocking so I disabled it. The board I have is a p5b but I have now bought a P5Q-E to play with.
