I have been trying to overclock my Q6600 over the last couple of days and i have had it at 2.7Ghz for a day prime stable, so I decided it was time to try for 3Ghz. All has gone well so far appart from CPU-Z showing the voltage to be 1.120v however i have set it to 1.25v in Bios.

Is this normal?

Its normal, you get some voltage drop from the BIOS value on all boards, and when under 100% load you get a little more voltage drop.

I can't explain why, you just do - its normal.

Also dear lord, if I had a Q6600 with a VID that low, I'd be taking it a lot higher than 3GHz >_>

Regardless, lower voltage is better, so you should be happy not trying to fix it! As long as its stable at that voltage, all's good.
