hi guys, i have a Q6600, P5K 2gig of Corsair DDR2 XMS2-6400C4 TwinX.

i have overclocked to 3gig multiplier x9 bus speed 334 rated fsb 1335.9.
i have set the volts in the bios to 1.38 BUT when i run prime 95 (quad core verson) and the cpu's are at 100% the volts drop down to 1.28 and then 1 of the 4 cpu's fail the test.
Can any one help
Many Thanks Craig:)

Welcome to the land of ASUS vcore.

Just up the voltage in BIOS to 1.4v and try again.

just looked back in the biso and the V-Core was on 1.4 all ready so i pumped it up to 1.5v i hope this will not trash my chip:) and prime testing now.

It shouldn't really fail 3ghz at 1.41v.

Up it another notch or two.

ok Cob i have up it 1 notch prime testing now wish me luck:) thx for the help:)

my temp is on 56 full load on air (water block on its way) is that ok?

Stock cooler?

I wouldn't go any higher than that. I'd wait for your waterblock before pushing on.

i just cant bleave that the asus bios and software lies, that is not good at all:( i was thinking my cpu temps was low when there not.

It's not lying. It reads the temps from a different sensor. CoreTemp reads the temps from within the actual die.
