Q6600 water

What I should expect rom a Q6600 with water? (spec in sig)

Does ocUK stcok the "new" ones btw? I am a bit behind with CPU's and intel in general so any info are welcome please

Mobo will be maximus formula I think.

Near 4ghz probably.

I have mine at 3.8ghz for normal use but has been benched at 4ghz and thats with my dodgy water setup Ive been sorting out!

I have mine at 3.8Ghz prime stable, but I think that I could easily make 4.0Ghz on it

Mines also rock steady (primed 24 hours) at 3.8ghz. Still more to come as i have'nt found the limits yet.

Yeah make sure you get a GO, NOT a B3. The GO as a few quid more but only have TDP of 90W and not 135w

Thats on water... I normally run at 3.8ghz but its stable @ 4ghz

TBH, a maximus formula is a waste on money on water cooling IMO... The main advantage over something like the P35 boards is higher Vcore settings other than that x38 is bugger all different to P35... but more than 1.7vcore is silly unless you're planning on moving onto phase...

Get something like a P5K-Premium

Max Formula are lovely boards but as monstermunch says a P5K-E or Premium will be fine for clocking up to around 4ghz for everyday use on air or water... unless you plan to run some very fast suiside superpi runs on phase cooling you wont need anything better motherboard wise

I didnt slate the Maximus, just said it was a waste of money unless you're planning on extreme cooling...

x38 is bugger all improvement over the P35 chipset... A good P35 Chipset will do the same FSB as the Maximus at nearly half the cost...

Air or water cooling go for a good P35 board like the Abit IP35 Pro, or the P5K-Deluxe or Premium...

Possibly, but even the Blitz is overly elaborate for water or air cooling tbh... What can the blitz do on water that an IP35 Pro or a P5K cant do ???
