Hi im looking for some advice on what i should do. I have a swifttech ultra watercooling kit on my q6000 @stock settings when i test q6600 at 100% load over 10 min tempertures rise from idle which is for me 25-35c to 50c max.

Im wondering is this a right temperture considering that swiftech say e6600 at 100% load at 35c ?

thx for your time

What are you using to read the temps? 50c under load at stock is pretty decent for the Quads, depending on where you are getting the reading from. Some people are seeing 50c at idle on air.

im using speedfan to monitor the temps thats pretty accrute right ?

It's ok but you're better using CoreTemp or Intels TAT. Tho TAT currently only lists the first two cores.

No it doesn't mate, look at the logging window, it shows reading of all four cores.

K i did the tests again but this time I used core temp just after 10 min at load

It came to a max temperture of 62 c , but on speedfan its saying 48 -50 max which one reading can i trust ?

Also core temp says T junction 100c witch cant be right :o

The CoreTemp reading is closer to the truth. 62c under load at stock isn't too great for water, but then the Apogee block isn't really designed for quad-cores.

And the 100c T junction is standard for the Q6600.

could you suggest a block that is designed for the quad ?

The D-Tek Fuzion. Tho the new Apogee GTX is meant to give it a damn good run for its money.

But I would wait and see what sort of load temps you get with your current block once you start overclocking.

But then again they'll likely start scaring the crap out of you pretty quickly.

Hi again

The thermal paste is about 4 weeks old and the block is nice and tight to the mobo.

I dont get it the thermal face of the water block (the swiftech H20-220 ultra) fits almost perfect with the face of cpu (q6600) i mean u can see the edge of the thermal face overlapping slighty on the the cpu so whats the differnces between the one i have and this one

Im confused ,on this link it says the apogee gt cpu waterblock is being used with a quad and it works quite well :o ?

any ideas please ?
