I am new to overclocking, have bought and built systems from OCUK over the years but never really bothered to overclock. Recently bought the IP35-Q6600 2.4 ghz Bundle and built it. Using the BFG 8800 GTX
The chip when Unclocked runs at a nice 18 degrees idle, about 25 degrees after a game like Crysis on full spec. When i followed the OCUK overclocking guide for this bundle it goes up to around 30-40 degrees idle which seems fine for the amount of overclock, but my concern is that it seems to flick back and forth instantly from 30 to 40 then back again? Is this instability or just the temp monitoring software not reading it very well?
I have returned to defaults for now to seek your advice as i dont want to unstabilize my system.
Also, once overclocked, can you suggest some stressing software to test my system safely?
