I game mainly, and do fair bit of ripping and video editing. It's running at 3GHz and I don't really see it slowing me down anywhere apart from in benchmarks.

So then, a worthy upgrade or not?

Finally, will my Crucial Ballistix PC2-5300C3 be fine still? It runs at 4-4-4-12 2T @ 800MHz all day without issues and can do more but I don't really see the point.

Absolutely no point at all for gaming. I just moved from a 4300 @3.4ghz to a Q6600 G0 @3.2ghz and there is no difference at all. Complete waste of time and money.

That's what I needed to hear. Thanks mate.

Getting H20 on Saturday anyway so I'll clock the E4300 higher.

Yeah I suppose. The E4300 is a cracking chip but it's letting my system down as a whole.

Also, will the Q6600 work with my P5N-E SLI mobo?

Yep. If it doesn't I'll just buy one that it will work with. No biggie.

EDIT apparently it does, just checked the ASUS website.

But then RAM will more then likely be DDR3 etc so it'll be getting changed. If the board won't allow me to clock it well then I'll change board and sell the old one. I've got enough parts at home to sell to raise the money so I'm not fussed.

What boards which support SLi are good clockers? Wouldn't mind a P35 board however I'm considering getting a second GTX...

Thinking about changing it now. Mine only has 4 SATA ports and I have 6 SATA hard drives, and the 680i boards have 6 on them. Just not sure which one. I created a thread in the motherboard section.
