cant overclock iv tried fsb 333x9 but still cpuz say 2.4.
m/board is 965p-ds3
could someone explane plz

The P965 chipset isn't great for clocking quads.

Try 330x9 with the MCH and FSB voltages set quite high.

What BIOS are you running?

Try 290, then 280 etc.

Open the Motherboard tab of CPU-Z and it will tell you (will be 'F' something).

it says f10

in cpuz it reports

bus speed 290
multiplyer x6
core speed 1740

The mulit's on x6, so you must have the Speedstep power-saving mode enabled (C1E and EIST options in BIOS). Disable those 2 options and it should run on the x9 multi.

And there's an F12 BIOS. Get it from here.

downloded the f12 but it says not compatible with my version of windows (vista64).
i cant see cie and eist in bios.

what cat are they under plz

I can't remember exactly where they are in the BIOS, but they're in there somewhere.

In the BIOS, those options should be under Advanced BIOS IIRC, towards the bottom of the screen.
