Q8200 Bottleneck

Hi guys,

At 1680x1050, how much do you think a Q8200 (stock 2.33Ghz) would bottleneck a GTX 460 768MB?

I'm planning on building a new system at the start of next year with Ivy Bridge/Keplar and was wondering if my current system has enough juice to last me.

With that graphics card I wouldn't think there would be too much of a bottleneck.

If you overclocked your Q8200 it would help though.

I hear the Q8200 is quite a poor OC'er.

2,800Mhz should be quite easy to achieve ( 7 x 400 ). That would give a nice boost to everything you run on your pc.

Depends what you're playing. My Q8300 at 3.3ghz bottlenecks BFBC2 and Shogun 2. But of course anything on Source is no problem. However at 2.33Ghz I'd imagine your chip will bottleneck most games out this year.

I'l holding out until early October to go Sandybridge, and hoping that 6xx/78xx is out by BF3!
