Hi all,

Am running a Q9450 with a Noctua NH-U12P cooler (dual fan setup) in a P182 case, and my idle temps are around 48 degrees, and load is about 60. That seems bloody high to me.

I have 1 x 120mm fan intake, 2 120mm fans on the CPU, 1 120mm in the lower part and 2 exhaust 120mm fans. Any ideas what else I can do??? Was looking at another case...

Well, just ordered a Lian Li PC-A70B and some articlean to re-do the thermal application. Am I right in saying just a blob in the middle should suffice?

i Small Blob will be ok, but i recommend doing a small line of paste horizontally about this long: --------

Should spread out evenly then when you apply the cooler, ir you can get a credit card or something that can act as a spatula and spread it out thinly.

Hope this Helps
Callum

Also, forgot to mention, i have a Q9450 and when i had the Freezer 7 pro, it idled around 60, which i know for a fact was a lie, trust your BIOS temp more then softwre

Several of the core temperature reporting applications don't show the temperatures properly on the Q9xx0 series as they have the wrong TJunction figure programmed in. It's all a bit irrelevant anyway as 60C is still fine, but it's probably closer to 45-50C.
