Help me figger this out guys........
If I upgraded my e8400 to a q9450 and used the same clock settings as my e8400, what would the q9450 be clocked to and is it worth upgrading??

My e8400 is at 3.6ghz, multi 9, fsb 400

Beware, my Q9450 and most others from what I hear run pretty toasty. I've got an H50 with it running at 3.2GHz and I'm getting load temps of 65-70. Thats with push pull scythe fans and a well ventilated case. Was the same if not a tiny bit worse with a Zalman Extreme.

It has a multiplier of x8 so 400 FSB would be 3.2GHz. After that, you would be relying on your 6400 RAM to overclock as well as the Q9450.

I have a Q9400 and iv got it at 3.5 using a Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro and it sits at 66c max full load.

bios

vcore set at 1.35 But OCCT and CPU-z reads it 1.4

Ive tried my current cpu higher but think the memory is stopping me cranking the fsb up higher then 400, cos nomatter what I do it fails in orthos/burntest. Im guessing its either cos I have 8gb or the mem dont like being oc.

I've got a 9550 running at a simple 3.1 speed, temps with my Arctic 7 pro are in the 40's and full load 60's. I've got a crap MOBO though hence the low clock
