Hi all, today i recieved my Q9450 in the post so im very pleased, got it into my P35-DS3R and started fiddling around when i noticed the core voltage on this chips is 1.088V, is this a little low, this is my first quad and 45nm chip so im not sure what is the norm. its a C0 if that makes any differance.#

Also what sort of core voltages are safe on these for decent overclocks?

The general agreement between 'enthusiasts' is 1.4V max, for 24/7 use, not exceeding 1.45V for benching.
It is more an issue of the VTT (not exceeding Vcore) and PLL voltages (not above 1.6V iirc) that kill 45nm chips.

These Q9x50 series CPUs seem to love low voltages, but at the same time maintain a good overclock! Mines at 3.4ghz and have got down to 1.176v prime stable! :)

Out of interest what are you core temperatures, 3 of mine are nice and close, however core1 is always seems to be around 8C higher. Fully loaded they currently sit at 0=59C 1=51C 2=54C 3=50C
