Hi Guys, just doen a search for this but a lot of the threads started getting technical and I really am looking for a straight yes or no :D

Hopefully my system specs will appear as my sig for reference.

I'm going to replace the existing ram with these.

As you can see they are 1600Mhz which hopefully should force my FSB up to 1600Mhz too.

What I want to know is: will the cpu which has a 1333Mhz FSB be able to go up to the 1600Mhz speed or will it hols the motherboard FSB back.

If there are any settings over and above adjusting the frequency speed in the bios, could you let me know what they are.

many Thanks

Marv

the 1600mhz ram is double data rate, so is 800mhz

the fsb on the cpu is quad data rate, so is 333mhz (or 400mhz @ 1600mhzqfsb)

You don't need to improve your ram to make the cpu run any faster, and getting 1600mhz ram wont instantly overclock your cpu, you have to manually set all this in the bios...

Okay, cool. Thanks. I'll press ahead and but the ram then.
