Hey, I recently posted a thread asking for recommendations on a new cooler for my Q9550. I decided to go with a corsair H50, with two scythe kaze jyuni fans.

I installed everything, after cleaning the q9550, and the heatsink on the corsair, to apply my own IC diamond paste. I set the fans up to in push-pull, acting as an exhaust at the rear of the pc. When i turned the machine on, it started up and booted into windows, then after 2-3 minutes, it rebooted, and from then it constantly reboots itself after around 10 seconds of booting up.

the temps appeared lower, have i shorted something?

any advice is appreciated as i desperately need to use my pc for work etc :(

Try settings your OC back to default and reboot.

If you boot up fine, gradually raise your oc until you get it stable again

I find its always best to set the oc back to default when installing a new cooler, otherwise you wont know how well its performing :)

Im afraid setting bios back to default didnt stop the rebooting :(. Another thing ive noticed, is that the identical scythe fans are not running at the same speeds, even tho q-fan is disabled. One is running at 1150, while the other 1250-1270.

any other ideas?

I was thinking about that actually, may be quite useful as well. As for the rebooting, would this help? could it be my power supply is too small?

it happens before booting into windows sometimes, just after POST. There are no blue screens or anything, it just shuts down and starts back up again randomly, with no correlation with high temps.

Check all the plugs\wires are pushed home.
I would start as if you just installed the mobo\cpu check everything.
