Im about to order a new system:
Q9550
xfx 750i SLi
Corsair PC2-6400 800 4-4-4-12
9600gt (already own)
Enermax Modu82+ 625W
Zalman 9500
For a long time i was going to order an E8400 but decided i could afford another £100 for the Q9500 as i do some 3D work in programmes such as Maya and from what i can gather having 4 cores is a big help but doesnt make much difference to (most) games.
The Q9550 runs at 2.83Ghz stock, the E8400 runs at 3.0Ghz. Im guessing that i would have no trouble OC'ing the Quad core to 3.0Ghz or better. I dont really want to loose out in FPS terms on games that dont take advantage of Quad core. I realise that with games its mostly down to clock speed.
Im not really into OC'ing, never done any before, i'd just like some feedback on the system, what would be possible in terms of OC'ing and any advice or opinions anyone has on the components listed.
