Just helped a friend upgrade to sandy today and I must say, it was fun to do.
He has the same mountain mods UFO case I do with a single water loop for his CPU.
The installation went really well, fitting the new CPU block was easy and it bled itself in a few seconds at first power on.
The reason i'm posting is i'm amazed at his temps even at stock. In bios the hottest core was 21c, at full load we're talking high 30's to very low 40's. Big thanks to OCUK for the really cheap IC Diamond that I got a few months back, first chance i've had to use it!
I dunno how he's got on with overclocking it yet as the missus was bored and wanted to go since it was all up and running.
Hoping he will post here once he's un-suspended!
On another note, i'll be fitting his Q9550 in my Maximus II tomorrow after the grand prix so i'm hoping for some clocks in the low 4GHz region. My Q6600 has faithfully ran at 3.8ghz for 3 years+ and has had a good life, but it's time in my machine is almost over, looking forward to tomorrow!

The difference in the Q9550 and Q6600 clock for clock is quite small (well from what I noticed) but it does use less power and potentially could give a higher overclock.

Let me know what core temps you get at what overclock. I seem to be having high temps and can't reach my old overclock anymore.
