Q9550 with EP45-DS3

Just replaced my E6750 and IP35 MB with a Q9550 and EP45-DS3 MB.
My initial appraisal. I'm not impressed. I dropped nearly 300 quid because I wanted to improve my framerates in Arma2. Result? No increase in performance in that game.
I'm also having problems with the Catalyst Control Center installing but unable to run.
Anyone have any ideas about the Catalyst Control Center problem?
Previously, I was getting a message that it was unable to find the files even though it was installed. Now it just doesn't run when I click on it.

Edit: I must mention that I did not reinstall XP after the swap. I just installed the new MB drivers and I also had to reinstall my soundcard drivers and graphics drivers.
I DO have .NET 1.1 and 2.0 installed for the Catalyst Control Center.

I'm surprised XP booted for you.

I would format your machine and do a fresh install.

Also to benchmark your system use a proper benchmark tool, I don't know about Arma2, but some games just aren't coded that well and scale badly in performance vs hardware. Its possible you have a GPU or memory bottleneck there too?

yes fresh install always easier and cuts out conflicts from your older system

anyways are you downloading the right version of CCC?

try reinstalling? and erm uninstall PhysX
