Could someone please help,what would be the correct memory toget for this cpu and if possible recomend a good motherboard i am not really looking to overclock at this moment just a reliable system i really appreciate as much help as possible ,thanks very much inadvance andy

Then any DDR2 6400 will cover it, and choose a Intel P45 motherboard from OCUK for your budget. There's no need for anything more.

I have a Q9550 and a P5Q-Pro, I use Geil Black Dragon EVO ONE ram with my P5Q-Pro. It's excellent ram and it's on the QVL list for the board.
