Q9650 overclock

Thinking of getting a Q9650 (E0 stepping)

What sort of overclock could I hope to get out of this?

Am using a Scythe infinity with 3 x 120mm fans.

I would like to think I would be able to get near 4ghz as my motherboard doesnt seem to mind doing 440ish on the FSB. It would probably do more too, ive just never pushed it that fair.

(440 x 9 = 3960)

I would obviously have to get the latest bios that supports yorkfields too I guess.

So as long as i didnt get unlucky and get a complete dudd of a cpu do you guys reckon this is feasable?

Also i wuld be grateful if anyone could shed light on whether i will need to re-install windows as i would rather not.

Got mine running @ 4.3 24hrs prime stable

If you do a bit of Googling I think you will find that most if not all Q9650's will OC to 4.0+ if you know what you are doing.

Oh and ALL Q9650 are EO stepping.

Indeed, you would be unlucky not to get to 4Ghz on stock volts.

Cheers guys. I was going to go for the q9550 but i might be able to obtain a q9650 for only £15 more so i reckon its probably worth it for the higher multi.
