Q9650 query

Is this going to come back into stock at OcUK? or is this processor about to be discontinued? It's just that it appears to have been out of stock for a while now.

Plenty of stock around, so i would imagine OcUK will get more in, Q9550 is more than enough and dam site cheaper.

Was also sort of wondering if this range of processors is going to be dropped anytime soon, what with the up and coming I5's etc.

Would like to move to a Quad but not in any real hurry. But also would not like to miss the boat and find these suddenly vanish off the virtual shelves (so to speak).

Now I know I could move over to I5/7 at some point in the future, but a new CPU for my current mobo is the easy option.

should still be around for at least another year. I went for a q9550, because my board wont support the later ones (ie q9650). Really good processor, mines actually a xeon x3360 (same as q9550, just the server version with a few improvements). Can easily hande anything i throw at it, and i havent overclocked

I think the current i7 line up is just too expensive for me, so i wanted to get a core2 quad and will spend the rest when the new gfx cards come out later this year.

I would at getting one between now and xmas, might be a price drop!
