Has anyone flown with this company before, Iam heading to NZ from Chile tomorrow, just wondered if anyone off here have used them.

I am interested to know what they are like as well. I have a few flights with them out in Fiji/NZ & OZ. Is your flight with Air Pacific by any chance?

I used them from Heathrow to Sydney and Sydney to Auckland last month. Leg room is ok with my 6ft 3 height, on board food is not bad. Drinks whenever you ask for them inc wine on the Sydney to Auckland journeys.

Be aware that you are not allowed to bring any liquids into NZ. They will scan you and your luggage when you arrive and if you have any muddy items (tents) it will hold you up.

Enjoy NZ :)

You aren't allowed any in your hand luggage? I will have a fairly big amount of insulin:eek:. But as i thought medicine is exempt :).

It is often claimed, most notably in the 1988 movie Rain Man, that Qantas has never had a fatal accident.[66] This statement only relates to the fact that the company has never lost a jet airliner. Between 1927 and 1951, Qantas had eight fatal accidents with the loss of 62 people. Half of these accidents occurred during World War II, when the Qantas aircraft were operating on behalf of the Royal Australian Air Force.

Sauce.

As an Aussie, I'm quite proud of Qantas. :)

Haven't flown with them for more than 15 years though, so I have no idea what they're like these days. They might have become quite dodgy.

Qantas is 45% foreign owned, with 25% held by British Airways. This may or may not be a good thing, depending on your perspective.

Your allowed liquids, aftershave etc arent you. All off which will be in the baggage hold anyway.

I may be mistaken. I was backpacking so only had bare essentials. My suncream was confiscated as was my water from Sydney. My aerosol and toothpaste were xrayed but not questioned.

All baggage was scanned even hold luggage!

Hmmm, just logged on and Flight operated by another carrier.
Codeshare. Quite normal. I've flown Qantas and ended up on a BA flight before. Check-in service at least seemed OK but I can't remember much else - not surprising when my flights were 28 hours each way (didn't bother with a stopover and really should have).

i flown loads of times with Quantas, not the best airline but far from poor

got all the usual stuff, meals - drinks etc

as far as i can remember the meals were fairly nice for airplane grub

There's no "u" in Qantas.
