Qnap drive configurations

Ive just bought a QNAP nas box

Ive fitted 2 drives a 500gb and 200gb.


I plan on putting media on the 500 and backups/downloads on the 200gb.

How do i set each disk up individually so i can see whats on each drive.


When i configure the unit i have the option

RAID0 /RAID1 and JBOD

Is JBOD the correct config to use the drives separately?

JBOD = Just a Bunch Of Disks. so yeah thats right.

JBOD will normally give you a single drive with all the downsides of RAID0 and non of the benefits.

Two single drive RAID0 arrays would be more normal if you want to keep the two drives separate.
