Hullo everyone,
I am trying to set up a working QoS policy on the Draytek 2820Vn but failing miserably. For the sake of explaining, I will include the following bits of info. IP range has been adjusted.
Available Bandwidth: 8Mbit down, 448k up.
Servers: 10.x.x.200-10.x.x.253
Clients: 10.x.x.100-10.x.x.195
So lets assume a client PC is absolutely hammering the connection with a huge download using up the full 8Mbit. I want the QoS set up so that even if any of the client PC's are doing such a thing, the access to the internet for the rest is unaffected including the servers.
How can I set up such a policy? I have read the manual a good few times and called upon the powers of google but it doesn't seem to be getting me anywhere.
From what I can understand, I need to set up classes which contain different services. But what is a "class"? Is it a container or a way or prioritizing different segments within a network? Then there is the "Reserved Bandwidth Ratio" which baffles me completely as it doesn't seem to do anything no matter how I adjust it.
A few screenshots of what I have at the min:

Main QoS Setup

Reserved Bandwidth Ratio + Classes

Class 1 (All IP's in server range)

Class 2 (All IP's in Client Range)
Now these screenshots don't make much sense to me but I was hoping someone here would know how to set this up correctly.
