The mic finally died on my trusty coolermaster sirrus headset.
So after reading that most of you guys recommend using stereo only headsets for gaming, I took a punt on the Qpad qh-90. I'm only using A laptop now for gaming [overclockers branded clevo 170em] so I've invested in the soundblaster xfi go pro because the on board sound was so poor.
So impressed have I been with this headset that I'm seriously considering upgrading to Qpad qh-1339 but I'm not sure if a laptop has enough power to get the best out of them ??:confused:
Anybody used these on a similar set up or will I be just wasting money ?? ;)

Well if you have bought a X-Fi Go! then you will be using that, not the laptop's audio. The Qpad 1339 is 32Ohm, so should be easy to drive. The 1339 should be noticeably better than the QH-90, as they are essentially made by Beyerdynamic with Qpad logo. Probably fairly similar to the MMX 300. All the other Qpad headsets are not made my Beyer.

Thanks for the reply Marsman. I did buy the xfi pro to replace the on board audio which certainly helped with the sound quality. Just wanted to make sure 1339 would have enough power supplied from the laptop to justify the expense.
So with a birthday coming up in the next couple of months looks like the 1339's are top of the list
