I am still waiting for a response from Royal Mail but just wondered if anyone can give me an answer to this ....
I used Click and Drop to pay for and print out a label to go on a large letter being sent to Germany, standard airmail.
The QR square and bar code looked OK but the hand scanner at the local PO failed to read or recognise either. The label was flat and not covered with sellotape. The PO chappie took the parcel and said it will be OK as the label shows it has been paid for.
I am just a little concerned as to wether this is correct, will the Royal Mail be able to accept the parcel into its delivery system if there is a code reading fault ?
Thanks
Brian.

I'm sure it will get to its destination, although you needed the scan for proof of postage.

Might be worth clarifying with them.

As you mentioned Germany (being EU), you will have also needed to complete a CN22 or CN23 customs form. They would have given you this over the counter which you can complete then attach to the parcel. Of course it's too late now if you have already sent it but hope you did it ok.

Thanks all.
I attached the customs form no bother, quite used to having to do that for EU now. I print my own together with the postage label.
Still waiting for a response from Royal Mail but no message yet about delivery or otherwise.
If the printer keeps playing up then that will have to be replaced !!
Cheers
Brian

You'll probably be OK. I've dropped packages into letter boxes that are supposed to have gone over the PO counter in the past and there's never been any problem with them being delivered or with the tracking working.

The QR code is always accompanied by a printed number anyway. They can just smash the number into the pew pew.
