You were running an x1900xt on a Q-Tec... you clearly have a death wish.

You've only got yourself to blame.

Don't automatically assume that because it was a Q-tec all the parts are fried though, its quite possible that some or all of it may be fine.

Ive tested all the parts in another pc with a different PSU, and none of them seem to work :(

Anywho this is what ive personally come up with.. Includes OS aswell as my XP was well .. *cough* yeah ..

I'd go for a BFG card as they have a lifetime warranty, but the OcUK ones only have a 1yr warranty.

As above, all might not be lost. Don't tell your mum that though ;)

Would a 320mb be ok ? I only game a 1280 x 1024, but i love ALL my Eye candy at Max with loads of AA and AF :D

But will change to a BFG as the lifetime warrenty sounds best.

That is £700 + VAT though so about £830?

Oops .... Make the budget £800 then :p

Will try to get away with 800 ... but if not make it £700 ;)

*edit* i Need a OS though, i dont have a copy of one :o

I'd save the £75 on the OS and spend it on an EVGA or BFG graphics card
The bfg cards don't cost that much more, £205 vs the ocuk ones at £192. Thats not a lot of money for an awful lot of extra warranty.
Unless you mean go for a gtx or an oc gts?
I'd say anything above the gts, the value for money just isn't there, you pay a lot extra for not a lot more performance.

Ok so revised spec will be... ( for now )

4300/6300 ? Which is best for oc'ing ? Will proberly go for 3ghz max ..

2gb GeIL 6400 Low Latency Ram ..

Ds3 Mobo

BFG 320mb 8800GTS Maybe 640mb

250gb Sata hardrive.. Hitachi or Seagate ?

Corsair 520w PSU

Tunic Tower CPU cooler

Samsung DvD-rw

Vista Home prem O/S

Forgot to mention i dont need a case either, will use 1 i have...

So all this sound great ? Or anything you might want to change ?

Should be fine, and good point about the BFG, that's what I have.

edit: Your above spec looks good. Some people are having problems with the DS3P, so go for the original DS3 or the P5B/DS4/P5N 650 SLi. The 4300 is easier to OC as it has a 9x multiplier.

I was thinking the 640mb GTS ;)
I believe at a relatively low res such as 1280 x 1024 there will be no performance improvement over the 320mb gts. The extra memory is never used.

Nawh I'm yet to believe that... Right now yeah, but I rekon these up and coming games will probably have the textures etc to utilise the memory even at lower screen resolutions ;)

Hmm possibly.
Although newer games that can fill the extra ram at low resolutions will probably be taxing the gpu so much anyway it won't be limited by the ram so it'll still perform the same as a 320mb...

If it was me i'd go for the 320mb. Actually if it was me i'd wait for r600 and 8900 which are just around the corner. ;)

Yeah I'm waiting for the 8900 (as you may tell from the sig!)... although the rumours bouncing around recently have been saying the 8900 has been chopped and won't ever exist :( We shall see what happens eh! *fingers crossed*
