Hi, I did have a search and not found an answer so could someone advise please :)

Been running seti for years and my main pc has a quad core Q6600, just got a new graphics card (GeForce GTS250) which is also going to be used for seti.

Do I want to leave the seti configuration using all 4 cores on the CPU ?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that when using the GPU one or two of the CPU cores need to be left free to supply the GPU ?

Bit of a numpty at this sort of stuff (but I try) so if someone could give me some advice it would be appreciated.

I think it's folding that people recommend leaving one core free. I've run SETI on all four cores on my quad alongside the GPU without problems, so I'd definitely leave it as is :)

I'd agree with The Tross with one 2** series card you'll be better off leaving it as it is.
It does make a difference with SETI on multi (read 3/4+ GPU wus's running at once) GPU systems and I do use 1 core for GPU's on both my rigs but thats to do with multi gpu and/or multi wu's on a single card.
