my rig: gigabyte GA-P35T-DQ6 mobo, Q6600 cpu, western digital 150gb hdd, pcz gamexstream 600w psu, crucial ballistix 1066mhz ram, 8800gtx gfx, antec sonata piano black case.

questions are:

1. is the power supply enough for overclocking?
2. should i go for the arctic freezer 7 pro or the thermalright 120 ultra to cool my overclocked quad core processor which i hope to get up to 3ghz.

any additional comments are highly valued.

The PSU is fine. If you can afford it, buy the Thermalright cooler, it's the best. If you can't afford the Thermalright, then the AC7 Freezer Pro is a good budget cooler.

Looking at it again - definitely the Thermalright - don't spoil it for a ha'penny worth of tar.

Don't expect to be overclocking a quad much without a high end cooler.

What, like the rock steady 3.0 out of a 2.4 quad under my desk, with nothing more high-end than an Arctic Freezer 7 Pro :)

Don't think it'll do much more than that, but 25% O/c on a cheapish aftermarket fan is not too shabby!
