Hi All

Hope you are well and someone out there can answer my question. I have an Intel Q8300 running fine although my core temps on idle are as follows;

Core 0 30 degrees
Core 1 27 degrees
Core 2 41 degrees
Core 3 38 degrees

Ive checked the processor with the intel diagnostic software and this comes back without issues.

Ive overclocked it to 3ghz and its stable but im worried about the variance.

Cheers Simon:confused:

Hi and welcome to the forums. :)

This looks like a classic case of stuck sensors on Intel 45nm cpu's. Eevery single one i have had has had stuck sensors. Load up something like IBT/Linx or prime and the temps should move once they get over the temp they are stuck at. It will not affect the cpu's running and can't be fixed either. As long as they move once heated up it will be fine. Load temps are what count.

Thunderflash, your's is normal and working fine. My i5 760 has one core warmer than the others.

all quad/hex cpus have threads at different temps...its totally normal some cores run hotter than others
