i have two of the following;

Intel's Xeon, 'Clovertown' Quad-Core Intel Xeon E5320 1.86 GHz (771 Socket)

i also have Intel® Server Board S5000PSL

intrested in putting them together and see how they bench
 
That would be great mate. Here is my system the quad is flying its way from the usa hope i get it is here for the weekend.

limited on skt771 mobo at the moment and the ram need to be EEC reg fullybuffered...

no way of fitting quad sli on there 2 - as im running that atm on amd x2 4800 any ideas :D

i tought there was some sort of cracked vga driver for sli?

its the slots :( so clost together also its sli compatible as standard but only at x8 too :(

there xeon and for server use really
 
yeah we got 2 ES Clovertowns from the intel rep a couple days back, gonna throw them into a server board and clock them up using ES bios and also the rep has told us that he'll supply info on which pin/pad to issolate in order to force it to run @ 1333Mhz thus clocking it right up :D
will post back when that info comes thru

no good for a home pc i guess ?

still lost as 2 what to do with my cpu's
 
yeah kentsfield is the home version if thats what it can be called and clovertown is the full blown server dual quad core version :confused: i guess the instruction sets must be different as well to cope with different memory configs etc

hehe - could use it in my css server - dont sure about co-location for bandwith

ill check into it
