hi guys im currently thinking of swapping my core 2 duo e6600 for the quad core q6600 , are there any of you out there changed a core 2 duo for a quad core and do you think it is worth it ? i myself do a lot of gaming and use fairly demanding software is it worth my while ?
 
Define 'demanding software'

If you have software that is multi threaded, then you should notice a considerable performance increase, if not, then at stock, it should perform exaclty as your e6600 does.
