Quad core suggestion?

Hey guys,

I'm looking to purchase a quad core CPU for online gaming, any suggestions?

Motherboard: MSi H81M-P33 Socket LGA 1150 Motherboard,

Make sure your bios is up to date.

Budget? For around £150 I'd go with the i5 4460 suggested above.

What sort of online gaming are you thinking of doing?

What video card are you going to be running?

What CPU are you running at the moment?

No point spending mega bucks on a new CPU if your GPU is going to hold you back anyway.

I've ordered the Core i5-4460 but currently i have a XFX Ghost Edition HD7850 2Gb Graphics Card will be upgrading to a gtx 970 next month.

Regards to game i'm talking black desert online, the division etc these are pretty intense graphic intense for MMOs. I'm currently with tera online.

According to the cpu support list for your board it needs bios version v1.4 or later to support that cpu. You can download the latest version here. Check what version you are running at the moment and if it's 1.4 then leave it alone. If it's earlier than that then you will have to take a chance and flash it. MSI boards are far too easy to brick with their abysmal flashing software.
