Hi guys, that deal on overclockers for the quad core Q6600 looks like a rather hot deal and I am wondering if my mobo will take it, it's a Abit AB9 (not Pro) I think I read somewhere it takes the Q6700 or something not sure about the Q6600.

I checked the abit site, but still can't find anything that says it takes it for definite.

Any ideas?

Wait another 3 days it should be even cheaper.

I think the pricing you are seeing now already takes the Intel price cut into consideration.
It will then just remain at its new price after it is removed from "This Week Only"

That's the new list price. When did things ever stay at list price? It'll be £160 Incl. by the second week of August. Wait and watch.

Certain other websites have already dropped there regular price to the this week only price, so I wouldn't expect any great change in 3 days. It's going to be around this price on 22nd. Might change up by a few pounds but certainly nowhere near what it was.

Just BIOS flash your motherboard to the latest BIOS and it will support the Q6600 if it supports the Q6700
