Just set up a Q6600. When running with nowt really happening I get temps of 32,28,27,24. I'm using a Arctic Cooler 7 in an Antec 900. Do these seem OK?

Now, I'm running 64bit Ubuntu Hardy as I have 4Gb of RAM installed and I want to now overclock my Q6600. I can't seem to find any Linux stress testing software. CPU-Burn doesn't seem to run.

Any suggestions as I'll need this before I start OC'ing.

Cheers

Andy

Kernel compile! (dunno how to do it in ubuntu but gentoo does have a good guide in the handbook about it..) back when intel created the P3 1.3ghz this was used to prove it wasnt stable above 1ghz :) (were talking around 2001) anyway still an amazing way to stress you cpu (my overclocked opteron at 3ghz just couldnt do this). Uh in ubuntu you could also just try to compile something (ubuntu forums have a guide to this) just to get an idea towards stability.
