Quad L-ites, any one have them ?

I've had a set of cherry L-ites for about 4 months, and I'm seriously impressed.
They replaced a mix'n'match 5.1 setup - Monitor Audio MA14 floorstanders, Ruark Dialogue One centre, B&W Solid rears, and Yamaha sub. The old setup cost a bit more than the Quads.
I'm using Linn and Naim power amps for the fronts, the rears are driven by my Denon 3802.

They are excellent all-rounders, the sub integrates well with the satellites, so you don't actually notice the sub, you tend to wonder where the "real" speakers are!
I prefer the Quads (to my old MAs) for music - small speakers give better imaging than floorstanders, IMHO.
The real killer is the build quality and finish, easily as good as anything at twice the price.

have only heard good things about them..

trying to arrange a demo to go have a listen

i have been advised to upgrade the fronts to 11L's, but ill go have a listen to both

edit: just ordered a package of lites and i collect them on thursday :D

I was going to do the same thing (upgrade the fronts to 11Ls), but, having heard both, I atually preferred the L-ites.

If you were just buying a pair of speakers for stereo listening, the 11Ls would probably be better. The L-ites are a little light on bass, the 11Ls go a bit lower. This isn't really a problem with the full set, since the sub provides all the bass you'd ever need.
Where the L-ites win is at the top end, due to the uprated tweeter (which will be fitted to the 11Ls at some point in the future), and the improved imaging ,due, presumably, to the narrower baffle.

Ask your dealer to demo the speakers in 2.1 mode first, and see if you can get him to not tell you whether you are listening to the L-ites or the 11Ls. That's what my dealer did. It was the first time that he'd heard the L-ites, and he was convinced that he'd connected the 11Ls!

EDIT: just spotted your edit!

after talking to a few people i realised that if i want to upgrade i can always get a pair of 11 or 12l's at a later date and upgrade to 6.1 or 7.1 ....

thanks for your help.

cant wait to get them now.

just received them and set them up.

obviously they need running in and calibrating and setting up properly on my amp and playing around with positioning..

but, first impressions...
