Hi, just installed my new Quad Q9550 with the TRUE black and mx-2 on a P5Q Dlx, everything in bios is set to auto. At idle, vcore is 1.048v and temps are, 26°C, 31°C, 39°C and 39°C. Now do you think this is incorrectly seated or just needs a lap?

At load the hottest two reach 51°C.

Thanks

could be seating or could need lapping.. would try reseating to get even pressures if not would try maybe modding the mount with a washer.. if that doesnt work then lap time it is :)

My TRUE was anything but true. Nice ironic name. It was really bad. I would consider lapping it. Doesn't take that long. Spent only an hour doing mine one day.

Sounds like uneven presure to me, there should only be a very small diference in core temps if it's seated correctly, lapping is a posibility but this sounds more simple than that.

Got to be uneven pressure really, that's a massive difference in temperatures, would lap them both if you feel comfortable doing it

Thanks guys, think I'll lap them both anyway :D

Quick question though, I don't have a metal ruler or razor blade, anything else I can use instead?
