 hi everybody, im new here, and im new with intel processors.
i bought a new system and my choice was the 6600 processor and after looking for a good motherboard i found the quadgt. i bougth i pair os OCZ 6400 platinum revision, this one advice by forums. ahhh, and a 8800 gts 320mb. im using my tagan modular (515- u) with 530w.
First impression was not good since was very difficult to install my 2 raptors in raid. im using the last beta bios that the link was provide in this site.
Ok until now, everithing was working, but was time for some benchmarks before do overclock. I just run the everest to run cache and memory benchmark an when start to run l2 cache, stops and the system crashes.
After talk with an engenieer he told me to change the memory timings to same values of OCZ (4-4-4-15 in that case). Go to bios change and computer dont want to boot anymore. i had to clear the bios.
Now ive checked with cpu-z the timings that is runing, since i left by the bios decide this, and is 408mhz 5-5-5-15 2t timings.
Can anybody say whats going wrong??? why my system is crashing(and if the engenieer is rigth to change the timings), and why i cant boot after change the timings on bios.
thanks!!!!

thanks megatron, and what about my memories???
its an ocz 6400, wich divider should i use and wich temperatures are safe?

ok.
running now at :D (hope go little more)
3060 mhz (using arctic colling freezer 7)
bus speed 340mhz
fsb 1360
ram 425 mhz 4-4-4-15 2t and voltage set to 2.1
nothing else! until now no erros.
idle 39c and full using orthos go to maximum 59c - 65c.
any comments?
tks again.

and how to do that, since i only have 3 dividers olny in the bios?
and now is strange, i put at bios multiplier 8. Somehow, i dont know if is normal, when i start cpu-z stays multiplier 6x in idle and goes to 9x when full, can somebody explain that?

should i change this memories for OCZ 2GB(1 x 1GB) Kit 1066MHZ PC8500(OCZ2N1066SR2GK), since the mobo specifications says support only ddr2800???

tks for reply guys!!!
solve the problem with Disable C1E/ speedstep. Tricky bios!!!
now is like this:
core speed: 3.2 ghz
multiplier: 8x
bus speed: 400mhz
divider : 1:1
rated fsb: 1600 mhz
ram: 400mhz 4-4-4-15-2t
working fine with 39c idle.
thins is voltage at cpu-z is 1.21 and uguru panel is like i set in the bios 1.35.
Temperatures showing diferentes as well in uguru and everest.
tomorrow im thinking to change the modules 6400 for one ocz 8500 sli(just pay the £35 dif cause my modules are 3 days old :D ). In ocz forum one guy say that works fine with abit quadgt, but i have little doubt since they ate sli. what do u think?

tks megatron!
makes me think again
but ive tried to increase the fsb and i think 3.6 is to much for my cooler. I just wondering that those pairs of OCZ 8500 could hit high frequency and lower timmings. its not better for £35???

 ok, ive change for the ocz 8500 memories, works for 10 minutes then i start to run orthos for stress memories and start to fail. and i didnt any overclock in those modules.
after the system freezes and did not switch on again. apppear C1 on my mobo monitor wich means is memory. I take out and tested one module by one. One work and another one not even start the system. Hope is some factory problem since i did not overclocked the modules :(
i dont know now if i change the modules for same ones or back to the 6400 ones.
tks

now is working with 1 module at 502mhz 5-5-5-15 absolutely fine.
i tryed with 450mhz 4-4-4-12 but fails on orthos.
tomorrow ill try to change for new ones, but im really thinking of stepping back to 6400. im really in doubt
