Quadro fx???????

Fair enuf, why are they so special and over priced. Won't a normal graphics card do? Obviously not but why, CAD aint that demanding. Or is it?

They're so expensive because they're made from higher quality parts than the GeForce cards, the drivers are put through extensive Q&A and the RMA support is very, very good.

Oh, and because business customers will pay those kind of prices :D

Quadro cards have been around for years... Still got a few Quadro 2 cards at work.

Basically a Quadro chip is a Geforce chip with a few extra bits added for CAD, graphics etc. and a big price increase ! !

Like above... Quadro 2 = Geforce 2 with tweaks.

The drivers between the 2 are more or less the same but have been tested more for things like Autocad, Solidworks etc rather than games.

They are really.... Difference between Geforce & Quadro chips is not a lot but Nvidia charge a whole load for the Quadro's as it's mainly business's that'll buy them.

If your board for 5 minutes, compare the Quadro spec with a Geforce and then compare prices.... Not nice viewing ! ! I look after our CAD dept at work and the money we get through every few years on Quadro card upgrades is unreal.
