Aparently we may soon be seeing the famous Quake 3: Arene on the xbox live marketplace, which should be fun. Obviously it isn't going to be as good as its pc counterpart due to lack of keyboard&mouse, but still playing Q3 over live should be a great laugh.

Link: Quake 3

what did they up the arcade download limit too again?
Think this might still be too big with a decent amount of maps tbh

Yes, this looks like good news, I wont think twice about buying this, im still waiting for Duke Nukem to come out though, but im doubtfull.. :(

Sounds great! I hated the game on PC because all the insanely accurate railgunners. At least with a gimped controller, I'd be able to survive for 5 seconds maybe.
A quote from someone on that link, made me laugh.

That is a fair point, an even playing ground on Q3Arena for the first few weeks anyway, until some people get good with the pad.
The arcade is one of my faviourite things about the 360, i love playing worms, i just wish the prices were lower, ive been wanting to buy billards but cant justify the price to be honest :)

Some people are already good with the pad.

I too am looking forward to Duke nukem. Q3 may be a laugh, depending on how well it is implemented, how much it costs, and how many OcUkers get it.

Woo Hoo Q3A!
Gotta agree with the comments from Joystiq though, don't think it's going to flow as fast paced as PC counter part. I remember PS2 version being pretty poor, controller wise anyway.

Really fancy a game now. Might have to dig out the PC version and have blast tonight :D

Yes, Duke Nukem. This I would buy without a shadow of a doubt!

Has this been confirmed for Live Arcade?

I'm not sure, it seems that it is coming tho :) Will be great on the arcade tho, got more chance of seeing this than Duke Nukem Forever to be honest (no confirmed for next gen consoles, err what gen? xbox1080?)

Nope just hinted about a lot.

I had 2 PCs networked in my flat when I was doing my MSc and pretty much had mates over all the time playing Q3 Arena and yeah I was one of those annoying railgunners. I'm not sure I'd get it though; the more I play retro games the more I think I should just remember the good times. When I was younger I played Doom and Doom 2 so much I finished both on Ultra Violent using just the chainsaw and shotgun, so I jumped at the chance to buy Doom but bar act1 on UV I've not touched it.

I recently (well last year) played the underrated Prey which pretty much captured the MP spirit of Q3 and is worth a look if you reminisce.

Saying all this though, Duke Nukem for the right price and I might be tempted; it was a hoot. They're probably waiting to do what they did with TMNT and release it when the new one is ready. (After the success of Prey and their 360 development experience Duke Nukem Forever is sooooo coming to the 360)

Ah the mythical Duke Nukem Forever. I'm sure it's been in development since I was 17! Going back nearly 10 years here :p

Aye, believe it or not (heard an interview with the head of 3DRealms) it is actually being worked on and could well be out this year (or more likely next).

I remember trying to play this game on my Dreamcast... How I sucked with the pad setup, a quick move back to my PC proved that K&M is the way forward.
Unless there is a significant step forward with the controls then I can't see it taking off...

IMO the 360 pad is the best console pad for FPS games.

But it is often said, FPS games need to be designed with the controller in mind for them to work on a console.

I also have this on Dreamcast and used to play it online with the pad. To the surprise of my Kb/m enemies I tended to hand them their *** a lot. :D

If it does come it could be the 1st thing I purchase from live arcade.
