quake 4 and win 7

ive just bought quake 4 so i can max it out on my current rig but it wont install saying it could not load the config file . ive looked online but didnt find much . can anyone help

I wouldn't think it's a problem with Windows 7. I downloaded the demo about 6 months ago to give it a try. I use Windows 7 and it worked fine.

Quake 3's better

Download the latest patch and install that. Fixed mine.

It doesn't install at all? Or you get it installed but then it won't run?
If it doesn't install, try and run the installer as administrator.
If it does install, find the patch as suggested above.

I have it on Win7 64bit and it works for me.
