thanks Lee

make sure there isnt a command in the config thats set the max fps to 60.
make sure you reboot the machine after changing the vsync setting in the ccc... sometimes it doesnt register till a reboot.
make sure your not running any other programs that can force the fps.

to find out if something is forcing vsync, change the frequency of your monitor and see if the fps goes up or down. if it doesnt change, then something is forcing the fps rather than forcing vsync... and vice versa :}

Do you have AA enabled either in the Q4 settings or the ATI control panel. Reason I ask is that Q4 brings even fast gfx cards to their knees with full AA enabled yet without is very smooth n fast.

Bring down the console and type:

com_fixedTic [-1,0,1]

- If set to 0 (the default) Doom 3's ticrate is capped at 60FPS, meaning the game framerate cannot exceed this, except when running a timedemo. If you want to remove this cap, set com_fixedTic to -1. Setting it to 1 removes the cap, but causes the game physics to go out of sync. Removing the FPS cap doesn't necessarily improve performance, and can lead to more variable framerates.
You'll have to make sure v-sync is off because tft monitors are default 60hz.

Q4 is an opengl game, of which most are limited to 60fps, which shouldn't be any problem really, since the refresh rate on most monitors is 60hrtz.
