Quake Champions

Whats wrong with the skateboard?

Looks like the whole purpose of it is to flesh out the characters from quake 3 so some stuff like that will be in it that was just effectively artwork in the original game which is fair enough IMO just 1-2 aspects that need to be very carefully done like built in wallhacks.

Ive also played 1000's hours on Quake 3, best game ever, still play live now, installed Quake 3 on to windows 10 recently, but the gamma dont seem to be working on windows 10 for me, Threewave Capturestrike and RA3,CCTF for the win, great mods, even loved Weapons Factory.

Well Anarki didnt emit footsteps because of the skateboard, so I assume 'it' has the same feature in this

From the perspective of someone who spent many 1000s of hours playing Quake largely I quite like it and feel that it isn't too removed from the spirit of Quake - there are 1-2 things that I don't feel are right though like Visor's vision ability - they need to be really careful with the implementation of that.

Quake was my first real PC game, solo, then MP (dial up :p) I still have it on my HD .. this is not quake!

Might interest some - phone quality off-screen footage of the Quakecon QC 5v5 TDM - its Capture and Hold and shows off some of the hero abilities

Bit hard to make out but if Visor's ability is literally a couple of second long "wallhack" with a reasonable cooldown time and some kind of effect that indicates it has been used that other players can pickup on then that is far less of an issue and can be quite strategically used both directly and indirectly tactically.

Just saw the last Q3(L) duel at Quakecon - yeah QC has nothing on it...

Rapha unbelievable player.

I think the only new ability on show was the health restoring totem - also Anarkis now a woman and the Nailgun is back...

I absolutely adored Quake 1 and Quakeworld. So much so that a friend and I would lug our PC's about every single week to go and join a LAN game at another friends house.

I played Quakeworld online with dialup for years, before finally getting an ISDN connection. I've lost count at the number of times I've cursed those LPB's on the Super Janet network :D

I never really got into Quake 3 for some reason, but I really do hope that this game brings back some of the multiplayer magic from that era.

Been playing Quake 3 last 10+ years, and now Quake live, trouble is, if they make the new Quake game to skillful like the old Quake's, people wont be able to handle it like us original Quake players, so i reckon it will be dumbed down quite a bit.

fact it is pc only at first anyway and aiming at 144hz monitors sugests it should be pretty hardcore and not to dumbed down

even doom multiplayer is pretty unplayable on consoles
