Quake Live - Beta signups now open!

Signed-up. I was a total Quake-head for 10 years until Quake4 (ironically my favorite Quake...) was pretty much DOA in the MP department.

It better have ZTN3DM1 :cool:
 
Let me understand this correctly...is this like CSS in terms of how clients and servers?

Will there be a client version of the game that you download and install onto your machine? The website is just the server browser.

And a server version for people that want to run their own server?

Would be rather poo if the game ran in a browser with "them" hosting the games.
 
Well at present, its in Beta, so yes, all the servers are hosted by ID as they are stress testing them. The game is downloaded through the web browser, all the games and everything are browsed through the website and then you launch the game through the browser but it runs independantly (almost). ITs great, forgot just how good Q3 was!
 
its definatly offical, the ID webpaged linkes to it, the site looks terrible on my work browser though, thats why i initially thought it was slightly dodgy.

No word here about beta signup being accepted though.
