quake wars help

hi, I have quake wars installed. i open it up, log in and try to join a server, but everytime it comes up with a windows error.
I am using xp sp2 and quake is up to date.

Any ideas?

Just a normal etwq.exe has caused an error and needs to close. the error is a normal xp one
