Got a slight problem with quakewars. For some reason it insists on using a pagefile even when there is plenty of ram left. This is quite annoying as it's causing it to jerk about sometimes and generally not be smooth :(. Soon as I start the game up , according to task manager page file usage jumps to 600MB , then once the game is started and your on a map playing , task manager says pagefile usage is 1.1GB. Pretty sure it never happened on the beta or demo.Normally it wouldn't be a prob , except for the fact the damn game doesn't need to use it. I've got 2GB of ram and peak usage is only just over 1GB , so there is no need for it.

Why is the game insisting on using it , when it doesn't need to? and to such excess. There is no way it needs to use 1.1GB of page file.

Problem don't exsist with any other games , just quakewars. Been looking around and no one else seems to of mentioned it , so either no one has noticed or there is a prob my end. Any idea's on whats up and how to stop it?.

Also I've tried to stop it by disabling the page file , yet apparently it doesn't work. Total paging file size 0MB , every single drive is set to no paging file , pagefile.sys doesn't exsist on the system. Yet even after doing that , still quakewars can apparently use 1GB of page file. How come? , I've disabled it , yet game apparently can still use. Whats the point of the option to turn it off if stuff can just ignore it and do what it wants? , or is the task manager telling me lies :o.

Thanks.
