Quake Wars relative to BF2

I thought it was a good game once all the teams got working together,

When everyone did what they were meant to do it just worked and that was nice, plus it was only a beta so it can only get better,

I played it for a while but got bored of the same 1 map, I will probably be getting the full game to see how all the other maps are

It is only the 1st build of the public beta, yes i find the hit detection quite awful but never the less it still has potential and the beta 2 will soon be released, to make a judgement on what the final game will be like on this beta is rather stupid if you ask me.

The game is rocking. The open beta wasn't all that much compared to the closed from what I've heard.

Hit detection was a problem for a bit but is now sorted. At the end of the day, it was a beta and not a release. Something some people need to keep in mind :)

It's closer to wolf:et than it is to BF2. If you like wolf you will probably like quake wars.
Maps are smaller than BF2, gameplay is faster, you need faster reflexes to kill up close.

having played the beta it's taken the wolfenstein/enemy territory teamplay aspect a huge step backwards in my book and just seems like battlefield now.

vehicles hasnt done it any favours and strogg jump packing around all over the shop is quite laughable.

if only the original wolfenstein 60 player market garden servers hadn't died (jolt i think?), i think that was the pinnacle for me.

Were so u get that the maps are smaller, are you in the closed beta? The sewer map in the public beta is considered the smallest map in the whole game, so you cant judge the map size on that 1 map.

I've got the beta. Overhyped by the bf2 community, it's just a big dissapointment. Although I'm not going to give away my key or anything, I'm still going to give it a chance, there's updates to come, etc.

I don't like it at all so far..fingers crossed for the next beta.

It just feels sluggish on my pc. FPS is ok but mouse and character movement just feels laggy, and I get my ass handed to me in it despite being pretty good at FPS games in general

My bullet just don't seem to hit or register

Ok, this one map is smaller. It's actually quite a decent sized map but most of it is mountain and not played on. I can't see the others being much bigger. And what difference would it make? A big map in this type of 'frontline' gameplay would just mean a longer time limit.

Who told you that sewer is the smallest map in the whole game? Are you in the closed beta?

Found it very, very disappointing. I know it's got "Quake" in the title but I'm sure I read the developers say it was gonna require teamplay/tactics etc Clearly that went out of the window as it was just a bunny hopping frag fest. No skill involved whatsoever. Graphics were appalling too!

If you actually do a search in the beta forums you will find the general concensus that Sewer IS the smallest map, as for saying you dont think the others will be bigger, if you watched the trailers or even the strogg/GDF tutorial that map is far bigger than sewer and thats one of the reasons why vechiles have been added, to cover the ground faster.

good thread gonna have to bookmark it for a laugh, apparently the game requires no teamplay and plays just like battlefield eh, funny stuff indeed.

definatly wait or demo before i buy, found beta pretty bad, usually easy to judge games on beta, not v impressed at all. seems we're going backwards from bf2142, long live bf2:)
