Do I need the full q2 for multiplayer?Didnt even know it had been updated so multiplayer is available. Just tried it and whilst my quicksave doesnt work as its now a different version, multiplayer works great
Not everyone has a CD from 25ish years ago, oh well I found a full version. The menu font is a bit small on this 23", I have to take phone and zoom in on screen. Old people vision (well ok 44 is not old right?), yay. This should do nicely, LG 32MP60G-B Monitor 31.5" FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS Display, AMD FreeSync, 1ms MBR Response Time, Refresh Rate 75Hz, On-Screen Control - BlackI expect so. I thought everyone owns a copy of Quake II. Over the years I think ive owned 3 hard copies and a couple on Steam
Can I set that in the .cfg file?Something a bit wrong if the menu font is small - there are some options for it but I forget details, the menu should be scaled fairly big.
ui_scale in the console will change the menu scale - 0 should be default which I think is automatic - increasing numbers 1-4 make it bigger, decreasing smaller (it can go below zero i.e. 0.5).
I looked at it in Plasma & put ui_scale in search & got nothing. The file is just config.cfg here. Seta, not Set?Should be able to put seta ui_scale 0 (or try 1-4) in the q2config.cfg file. Check it doesn't exist in there first though.
Yes, I always played with a gamepad, I got on the leader boards with a 16.8k "K" not M, connector. BTW, Q2 had a alt. attack from weapons right, I am sure it did, but I don't see it in action binds?.Joystick for Quake II ??![]()
My fave mod was ChaosDM.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TTcLMGSmsuwAlong with having it from one of the id packs on Steam I've also still got like 3 boxed copies of the game including the original CD purchase and got 2 other copies of it in physical bundles. One of the few games I've kept the physical copies of.
Despite being a huge Quake 2 fan I've never really bothered with most of the official add-ons or DLCs - for some reason I've never really gelled with the take on the game by 3rd party studios. Had a lot of fun from mods and other player created add-ons, etc. though.
