Yep, it's that time again. Quakecon starts today and the legendary Carmack keynote speech is at 5.30 eastern time which I make to be 10.30pm or 11.30pm GMT. Yippeee! :)

This is interesting. Anyone seen Pacific Rim? I have and apparently id software art director was responsible for the artwork!

On Saturday, Aug. 3 at 4 p.m. ET, id Software art director Hugo Martin will present "From Sketchbook to the Big Screen," a talk detailing how he designed concept art for the gigantic Jaegers mechs featured in Guillermo del Toro's recently released film, Pacific Rim.

Yeah, it'll be awesome if there's any Doom 4 updates! :) Doom 3 was one of the best FPS I ever played, even though many people thought it was meh.
 
I just remember the hype about Doom 3 being scary and when I got the game, I was very cowardly and scared to go into the first dark area of the game. :(:D

Up to thirty-two (32) of the world's best QUAKE LIVE players, hand selected by tournament staff from the open online registration, will face-off in the 1 vs.1 duel for $18,000 in a double elimination bracket, with each match played in a best-of-three-games format. With two competitors remaining, thousands will gather to watch as these two best-of-the-best survivors go head-to-head in a single elimination, best-of-five-games throw-down with a $9,000 check written to the champion.

I've been watching the quakelive duels all evening, they're on the second round now, double eliminations. Some great matches have been played so far! :)
 
You still playing QL, Rroff? I haven't touched it for over a year since last catching you online. Tempted but the problem is it always becomes too addictive and I can't afford to risk getting sucked in again, at least, not right now. You were of course beating most of the others when we on the server and you'd pretty much just returned to the game. :D
