I've recently been informed that I can get some sort of qualification for completing two years of uni and as its time to update the old CV and look for a new job I thought I could stick it on!

I did my first two years and passed, but due to several reasons did not pass my third year. I left uni without a degree and got a job as by that time I had lost the will to carry on at uni but just wanted to get out and work. I have no desire to go back to uni and do my third year as it has been several years since I finished. I've found out that for passing one year, I can get a certificate of higher education, but is there anything else for two years? Is it a foundation degree?

Cheers,
Andy

You might get a receipt, if you ask nicely...

Seriously, you'll probably get nothing. Some places will give you something or other, like a certificate of attendance, but it's probably pretty worthless I'm afraid.

Just thought it looks better to put that on my CV rather than just have it listed under education but not have any grade from it..

Cheers for all the replies.. Haven't got round to phoning them yet though to find out for real..

U.W.E give a DipHE for 2 years

i believe some places will do you a HND

I thought it was something like that from what I researched, will find out for deffinate tomorrow! :)

Wow, this is a bit of a blast from the past!

I never did find out if I was entitled to anything as I managed to get another job pretty quickly.

I am not a huge advocate of higher education. I mean if you actually need the qualification for your career than fine, but if you have a real yearning to learn then just go to Oxford and get yourself in to the basement of Blackwells. Phone a University up and ask what the book list is. Ultimately University is about how to learn, not what you learn, and you can actually find that out for yourself. You don't need to pay them to tell you what you probably already know, or can easily find out.

This was my problem. I was never fully on board with it and by the time I'd finished college I'd had enough of education anyway but it seemed like going to uni was the done thing. That combined with some other things going on at the time meant I completely lost the will to complete my final year.
