Hey guys, I plan on getting a decent set of headphones for my gf. She'd use them mainly for listening to mp3 players and such. I know it's a bit late to be doing it but if I order them early this week I should have them in time :)

I'm looking hopefully somewhere around the £30-40 range. I don't need anything massively fantastic, I really haven't payed much attention to this area before so I don't really know what to expect. Any suggestions would be great.

She usually just uses whatever crappy earphones she can get cheapest out of the laminated book of dreams. She said a while ago that she would like a set of full ear surrounding headphones. Comfort and music quality would obviously be what I'm looking for most. The price range is this low because I'm a) a cheap ******* and b) getting her a bunch of other stuff too.

Was just looking at the Sennheiser HD-280 but I think they're a bit too expensive. They're getting a lot of good reviews though. We've got a limit set on what we can get eachother and these would cost that alone.

Is there anything cheaper but still with decent sound?

How about the Grado SR60? Any good?

Thanks for your help guys, in the end I went with slightly better then the HD212Pro and got the Sennheiser HD465 Open Headphones. Now I just have to hope they get sent to my sister in england before she comes over here so that she can give them to me to give to my gf!

Why don't Amazon sell electronics to Ireland?!

hrm.. I realised that I could have just bought off the company themselves and they send to Ireland.. garr.. trying to contact their sales department.

I use a bag

Was just going to let you guys know I got her the Sennheiser HD465 headphones. Only just got them now as there was a bit of hassle getting them sent to someone in england and on again to here. Better late then never though. They are absolutely fantastic. Listening to them full volume with absolute perfect fidelity. Russian Navy Hymn from hunt for red october anyone??

Only problem is that at full volume they can be easily heard next to you but I think on a bus she won't really be listening to them full blast anyway. They are still loud when you turn them down enough to be quiet to outside people. Thanks for all the advice guys :)
